Base your eye shadow choices on the undertone of your skin.

If you have warm undertones, warmer colors will look most natural. The same goes for cooler skin tones. That said, if you want your eyes to have more of an impact, choose the opposite: warmer toned skins can wear cool pastel shades and cool tones can wear bronzes and other warmer shades.
